A G E N D E R is a Melbourne all girl 3-piece.
‘Mani Pedi’ is the first single from their sophomore album ‘Fixations’: a synth punk jam, a confession of one’s fixation and fetish with the femininity of fingernails. In an otherwise bleak world, it’s the touch of a woman that adds colour to the chaos.
‘Mani Pedi’ is a love song that only a woman could write for another woman. It was recorded by Casey Rice (Liz Phair, Red Red Meat), and co-produced by Rice and Romy Hoffman. A G E N D E R started out as a solo lo-fi punk excursion for Romy Hoffman (macromantics, Romy), and has since morphed into an all girl 3 piece, known for their intense, fast, tight knit punk shows.
A G E N D E R are interested in exploring the desperate/ disparate nature of queerness, gender and sexuality.
